A bit about the role:
At Immutable, we are rapidly growing both our engineering team and our customer base. We need to ensure that there is a cohesive vision for how our engineering architecture will evolve, as well as a strong strategy for how we will achieve that vision over time, while still delivering amazing products for our customers. 
As our VP of Architecture, you’ll be accountable for developing this vision and then driving cross-cutting engineering programs in order to achieve it. You’ll work closely with the other members of our Product, Engineering and Design leadership team to bring our overall goals to fruition. You should be able to effectively merge our desire to deliver amazing customer value with our core engineering principles of quality and stability. 
You’ll become a deep expert in our product and the technologies used to build it, to inform your architecture strategy. You’ll have the opportunity to become a deep expert in web3 technology, including Solidity, CAIRO and zero-knowledge proof systems like STARKs and SNARKs. You’ll build and manage a team of senior engineers, who will help realise your vision by working across teams to drive alignment on overall technical strategy. 
You’ll also be responsible for building Immutable’s talent brand – we want to attract a team of fantastic engineers, and to build an engineering culture in which they can flourish. You’ll be an advocate for engineering experience at Immutable, and should be passionate about building a world-class team and process.

You will have the opportunity to:

    • Making core architecture choices about Immutable X
    • Establishing a long-term technical roadmap of investments in response to the product strategy 
    • Working to facilitate long-term, function-wide engineering initiatives
    • Hiring top-tier engineering talent into the business, and creating an environment where that talent can flourish
    • Creating a strong engineering brand for Immutable in market

We would love you to have:

    • Strong technical skillset, with experience in highly technical products and respected engineering organisations
    • Proven scaling experience + architecture experience with 50+ engineers
    • Must have experience in a product-led scaleup with a modern tech stack
    • Must have had a very senior IC-skewed engineering leadership role previously
    • Strong Communicator
    • Effective Leader

Some extra skills that would be awesome:

    • Strongly typed language experience (e.g. Golang, Typescript, Java)
    • Postgres 
    • AWS
    • An Interest in cutting-edge technologies like blockchain, Web3, etc.
