At Decentraland, we are creating a virtual world that will grow beyond any centralized control. To accomplish this, we’re building a suite of supporting tools and applications designed to help people create three dimensional content, games, and applications. All of this will be hosted and accessed on a fully decentralized VR platform. Our work touches virtual reality, dApp development, game design, cryptocurrencies, and 3D art and design.

Responsibilities
Create high quality 3D models (model, UV mapping, texture, set up materials and optimize them for scenes, assets and Decentraland wearables following the technical requirements and guidelines).
Create concepts and designs for 3d models to be executed in a timely manner, respecting the assumed deadlines.
Work in collaboration with the content team developers to create engaging experiences such as games, events and experiences.
Ability to do a clean re-topology of high poly models.
Document design technical pipelines if it’s required.
Requirements
More than 5 years doing 3D modeling and texturing.
More than 2 years of experience working with Blender with a deep understanding of the tool.
Experience modeling characters/avatars.
Deep knowledge of techniques to create textures and materials following the PBR workflow, using a wide range of shaders and procedural nodes if it’s necessary.
Wide experience working with a 3D animation pipeline doing weight painting and using advanced skinning techniques and create solutions in the model to ensure the best results for rigging and animation.
Do constructive critique when it’s needed, proactive to bring new ideas to the team and being receptive of the given feedback.
Excellent English-speaking and communication skills (Slack or virtual meetings) to communicate with the team.
Flexibility and ingenuity to find workarounds and solutions to limitations and other challenges.
Desirable
Experience modeling assets using sculpting tools (Zbrush or similar).
Experience using libraries for textures and addons for Blender.
Composition and rendering to create images for marketing or others if it’s required.
Experience with Unity or Unreal.
Programming experience, mainly to work with the Decentraland SDK.
Experience doing animations and rigging of characters and props.
